History of the Galenia
Galenia Boutique Hotel is a proud addition to Springbok’s hospitality landscape, newly opened in 2026 under the ownership and curation of Sheleen Cloete. With extensive experience as a head of housekeeping in 5-star Cape Town hotels, Sheleen has brought world-class standards and heartfelt personal service to Namaqualand.
Supported by the Department of Tourism, the property underwent comprehensive renovation and modernisation, including alternative energy solutions and upgraded facilities. What was once a conventional hotel has been transformed into a contemporary boutique destination that honours its location while delivering elevated comfort and service.
